Tips & Instructions:
ACCELERATE SLOWLY: Takeoff slowly (prevent slide off)
CURLED UP? THEN FLIP IT OVER: It will curl up when you unroll it. Simply turn it over and let the curl go to the ground. It is reversible and can be used on either side. Switch sides as often as you like.
IT IS UV RESISTANT, NOT MAGIC: Don’t store it in the sun. It is UV resistant, but like everything, it will last longer if it isn’t in the sun all day, every day.
DON’T SLIP ON IT: It is slippery, so be careful when stepping around it, especially when there are leaves on it.
STRAPS: Use a strap for extra tall loads, or on more extreme terrain. If you want to pick up stuff to make your loads larger, consider using a hay fork. They work great!
PAVEMENT & GRAVEL: When hauling over pavement or gravel, avoid points of extreme pressure (in other words avoid having a lot of weight in one spot), like a knot sticking out of a log. The extreme pressure with high friction from gravel or pavement, could melt a hole in the Yard Glider. If you get a hole, you can still use the Yard Glider. We melted one on purpose and then used it a bunch, and will continue to use it for many years. We think the hole gives it character.
LOAD EVENLY: As with any load, distribute heavy loads evenly.
PULL UP SLIGHTLY: Attach the pull cords as close to your machine as possible. When pulling the Yard Glider, the front edge should lift off the ground a little. This lift helps the yard glider bounce off of obstacles and helps prevent your load from falling off. If you use a REALLY long rope and drag the Yard Glider way behind your machine, the front edge could catch on roots and you could lose your load. We hate it when we lose our load prematurely, and we imagine you feel the same way.
FOLLOW MANUFACTURERS TOWING GUIDELINES: Yard Gliders make hauling easy, but you should always follow the towing weight limits of the machine you are using to pull your Yard Glider. Ignoring manufacturer limits could result in damage to your machine. See your operation manual, or contact your manufacturer directly for specific towing guidelines.
